| Brides plan for the 'big day'
GEORGETOWN - More than 120 people fought the winter weather on Sunday, Jan. 20 to attend the 2007 Bridal Show, held at Rhonemus Hall on the fairgrounds in Georgetown. The event was organized by CR Tours and Travel and proved to be helpful for many blushing brides, as well as their families and friends. Photographers, caterers, florists, and disc jockeys were at the event to help future newlyweds plan their big day. "This is a great place to come if you are putting things together yourself, and don't want to spend $15,000 on a wedding," said Heather Scott, who plans to tie the knot on Sept. 8. Other vendors came to help with the days before and after the wedding. Star Lady Fitness came to help brides fit into their glamourous gowns provided by Traditions Bridal and Formal, while Pure Romance and Slumber Parties by Emily was there to make sure the bachelorette party would be one to remember.
Barrymore Im Not Done With Romantic Comedies
DREW BARRYMORE has scoffed at reports she is turning her back on romantic comedies, revealing she is working on a third film with her THE WEDDING SINGER co-star ADAM SANDLER. The actress claims her words got "twisted" in a recent interview when she suggested she's had enough of the lightweight comedies she's famous for. But now she insists "I will never deny a genre that I absolutely love." And she reveals she's already working on her next project with funnyman Sandler. She says, "You say one thing and it sort of gets twisted into a million different directions. "I love doing them (romantic comedies) and, in fact, Adam and I just read a script recently that we're thinking about. "We waited a few years between The Wedding Singer and 50 FIRST DATES, as we probably will again... I will absolutely do more." 15/02/2007 03:16 Also see: DREW BARRYMORE THE WEDDING SINGER ADAM SANDLER 50 FIRST DATES .
Let's hope the governor survives the honeymoon
While at least 69 percent of Florida's citizens, according to a recent poll, are reveling in the perceived successes of Charlie Crist, I have one overriding fear. I suspect that, if things don't change soon, the headline in the redesigned Tallahassee Democrat will read, "Governor's head explodes during press conference." I certainly wish no such untimely demise to befall our newly elected and well-tanned chief executive. I do hope, though, that he will take the unceasing praise being heaped upon him with the good sense of a seasoned politician, realizing that the love of the people is as constant and predictable as a winning streak in the Atlantic Coast Conference. .
Has your career interfered with your romantic life?
As a third grade teacher, my career has interfered with my romantic life. Once women hear that I am a teacher, they often respond with an "oh, that's cute" type of attitude and keep going...looking for someone with more money. I also own a successful business and when I start by saying this is my job, I find that more women will stop and take the time to get to know me. I prefer weeding out the "gold diggers" by letting them know first that I am a teacher. .
Romantic remedy
For all the romantically challenged who havent made dinner reservations or ordered the delivery of roses, its important not to panic. You can still pull together a special evening for your sweetheart, and youll get big points for making a bit of an effort. How does a romantic, candlelit dinner for two in the comfort of your own home sound? No traipsing out in the cold and waiting for your table that was reserved, yet somehow is still not ready. The menu: Salmon with Dill Sauce (its pink!) or Filet Mignon with Mushroom-Wine Sauce, roasted asparagus and rosemary red skin potatoes and a nice crusty bread. If you choose the fish option, you get to make your entire meal in the oven. Youll have to fire up your stovetop for the filet. Swing by the bakery for a fancy dessert or the produce aisle for strawberries to dunk in melted chocolate.
