| Honeymoon has sticky end at Syrup FC
WHEN a tight-lipped and ashen-faced Syrup F.C. club president, Desmond Tombs, addressed the media for the first time last month he could not have foreseen the troubles ahead for the famous club. On that lovely summer's day at a packed media conference, immediately after assuming the top job, President Tombs hollered: "I took on the presidency simply because I was asked. Bluey Petherdick turned up late last week with a slab and after a few beers asked me to get involved. It took me another couple of large ones to say 'yes'. "But make no mistake, I am here for the long haul. I am not going nowhere until The Syrup are flushed out the bottom of the bowl." Tombs, the carpet-laying magnate from Sunbury South, has made a fortune in recent years in the adult entertainment industry.
RAIN, RAIN: Honeymooning in New Zealand is a challenge
Before my husband, Jason, and I got married, we had taken a few vacations that played out like low-budget episodes of The Amazing Race. We had hitchhiked in Mozambique, pushed a broken-down car across the Swaziland border, and toured glaciers in Argentina shortly after its economy collapsed. For our honeymoon, we decided to plant our feet firmly on the beaten track, escaping a Pittsburgh winter for several weeks to go someplace warm and full of English speakers. Battling the elements, you see, was not part of our plan. But during the New Zealand "summer" in late December and early January, we encountered hail, snow, hurricane-force winds and Doppler radar images lit up. Mostly though, it rained. And rained. The skies opened up every single one of the 11 days we had there.
Eight week honeymoon period
As pressure mounted on the Rev Ian Paisley to agree to power sharing with Sinn Fein by next Monday, talks sources hinted there could be an eight week bedding in period for power sharing ministers. "The St Andrews legislation is very specific," a source said. .
Sacha Baron Cohen’s strange honeymoon plans
London, March 24: If there is one thing that comedian Sacha Baron Cohen cannot resist talking about, it is his honeymoon plans with actress Isla Fisher. The Borat star is eagerly waiting for the day when he will be walking down the aisle with the Australian actress this summer, say his companions. Cohens former co-star Luenell Campbell has revealed that the actor keeps discussing Isla continuously, and that he has some suitably strange plans for his honeymoon. "He constantly discussed Isla. He wants to go trekking on elephants, he said that's very important," the Mirror quoted Campbell as saying. Meanwhile, Cohen is reportedly eager to visit the land which inspired his controversial documentary, Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan, but one of his co-stars Ken Davitian is stopping Cohen from realising his wish.
Seychelles: Recapturing the Romance
Having a second honeymoon is a fantasy most of us never get to live. We are busy saving up, building our homes, getting the children through school, playing mummy and caretaker. But a second honeymoon? Well that is always a beautiful thought, one that we prefer not to dwell on. So going for my second honeymoon to an exotic island in the midst of the Indian Ocean was my sweet dream come to life. At the beginning of this year, my husband headed to Praslin (pronounced Pralé), Seychelles' second largest and most popular (with the tourists) Island. We first flew to Nairobi, then to Seychelles where we took another short flight to our destination. .
